Review on Precision Feeler Gauges 26PCS Set by Robert Rasmussen

Not all sizes are precise or accurate

Some sizes are not accurate or are incorrect. My set of cams, one at 0.0032 and the other at 0.0192. Both were measured with my Mitutoyo micrometer (calibrated) as marked. However, 0.0015 turned out to be 0.002, as was the one correctly labeled 0.002. whether you trust my calibrated tool or not, two calibers with different labels mean the same thickness. This number measures 0.010 thickness, but brass (not copper as advertised) measures 0.0092. Many others deviate from the specified thickness by several 10,000 on both sides. however, this is not uncommon as my 30-40 year old vintage Craftsman (probably made in the USA) has similar tolerance variations. There is a good layer of preservative oil on the sensors. I took it apart to clean it. However, you can leave the oil if it is not stored in a dry environment, as like all steel tools it will rust. Instead of a good knurled nut for adjusting the given friction, a nut is included, which does not make the figure adjustment optimal. There is a Phillips screw on the other side. who wants to take a screwdriver to adjust the set of fiction. I bought to connect to existing feeler gauges to hoist a precision ruler across the surface to check the area between the hoist points for flatness. Must be able to find something close to the task.
