In-ear disappointment

I really wanted the HE100, expectations were high. I have an ES100 USB and Bluetooth DAC that I really like. This is still probably the best Bluetooth DAC you can buy for under $100. I expected the same from the HE100, which will once again be an excellent audio device for its price range. But. As soon as you listened to it, you got the feeling that something wasn't right. "Rich and solid bass" is very similar to most cheap headphones. Just too pronounced bass that my head is starting to ache from. "Clear & Open High" is missing at the other end. The music doesn't sound as crisp and clear as I'm used to in other ears, and it doesn't compare to my earbuds. Also not suitable for "Easy Listening, Medium Thickness Vocal". There are no details in the polls. Hearing this reduced sound is not a joy, just a disappointment. Same with "Pinpoint Sound Localization", it's just not there. Maybe I was unlucky with this device as it seems to be from the very first batch. If not, they're just cheap-sounding headphones that sell for $90. Apart from the acoustic disappointment. Processing quality is ok. The case is made of metal and is cold to the touch. The lower 2/3 of the thin round cable is covered with fabric. Why not the whole cable? The round cable gets tangled easily. This is not state of the art. The cable also makes noise when it moves. But that's a problem with most headphones. One star for Radsone because I really like the ES100. Another because they sound better than the $5 headphones that came with my phone. What to do with them now?
