At first glance it may seem like a lot of money for a set of small shelves, but critics probably haven't made a lot of furniture because if they did they would know at the time and materials add up quickly. I enjoy working in my shop just as much as the other guy but they are so convenient and well packaged for assembly this was the best solution. The wood is very light but deceptively strong. I rock CDs, there aren't that many. Shelves don't sag. In addition, the grain is very attractive. The brackets are perfect and make it easy to measure and mount on walls. Most DIY murals don't come with usable hardware like this one. But please follow the instructions verbatim. Use the shelf and bracket assembly as a template with a level to mark the holes. Measure carefully before drilling. Drill exactly 1/4 inch diameter holes and test each anchor for suitability before expanding and driving as needed. Make sure the anchors are well seated in your drywall. Do not overtighten the screws! Screw them in with a power tool if you want, but save the last few turns for a hand screwdriver. I prefer these small shelves to complement my media shelves rather than adding shelves that don't match. The asking price is all the money in the world, but it's all about convenience!
