3 stars because the product does what it is designed to do but there are issues when using a Windows 8 computer. The mini-disk that comes with the USB-IR port does not contain a driver for Windows 8. Go to: http://www.polar.com/us-en/support/downloads/Polar_IrDA_USB_Adapter_Drivers?category=faqs&product_id=121You can download the driver from this page. Click on the word "here" and the driver package will be downloaded to [Win_Drivers], double click and select "Window 8 64" and then run the setup application. This should help you after restarting your computer like it did for me. The instructions I found on the Polar website are not very intuitive and tell me little. Now the device works with my new computer, but it was not easy to get it.
