I installed this box on the wall of my house to charge my electric car. This is a very good product; solidly built and well finished. Here are a few pointers to help you decide if this is right for you: The power cord should enter from the top (bolted-on hub) or from the bottom (concentric cutouts). There are no cutouts on the sides or back. There isn't much room for cables in the box, so you may need to work to get the connector/plate standing up with thick cables inside. It took me 3 tries and about 15 minutes of wire length adjustment and wire shaping before I was happy with the fit. The box is attached to the wall with three mounting holes on the back (one in the middle at the top and two at the bottom). ). The mounting holes are recessed so the box is about half an inch off the wall. The lid only closes with a fairly flat rectangular plug. I have a black Leviton plug that fits perfectly. As another reviewer noted, the latches with handles on the back prevent the lid from being closed.
