Box too small for plugs, inlets and sockets

The box for this is too small for 50 amps, maybe 30 amps. The tight fit made installation very difficult, also the box material was too soft, curved.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Secret

Working, good value but not perfect

Good value for money, made in China for those who care. The box is not deep enough to close it when the normal device is plugged in, may work if the device has a right angle plug. Does its job and was the right price

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • It's ok

I had to go back. on Power & Electrical

I wish I had something good to say. I couldn't install it and sent it back. My RV Cord wouldn't even connect to it. The neck of my RV fork is longer than the hole in the box. I'm glad I figured it out before installing it. You will also need a very small van cord to close the door. I'm not sure if this product was well thought out.

Pros
  • Best in its Niche
Cons
  • Doubt

It's just an outlet.

This is a heavy duty outdoor socket that I installed in our house so my sister and her husband can power their caravan while they are visiting for a few weeks. The socket is solid and the connections were well labeled so plugging in was easy. It might help that I'm an electrical engineer, but that's not rocket science.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Small Items

The power cable fits! for power engineering and electrical engineering

Beautiful packaging. Looks like a professional installation. The only issue, and it is significant, is that the slot for the RV power cord and the outlet door closing is too narrow - had to widen it with a hacksaw - very disappointing! Also, only two screws on the bottom hold the base plate in place - there has to be one on top of the plate!

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Packaging for drilling

High quality box for power and electrics

I didn't realize that this box comes with a socket and have ordered an extra one to no avail. This box will not work with Camco 55255 RV 50 amp plugs. The stub handle prevents the door from closing, so it stays open and exposed to the elements. I just followed Revane's suggestion with this order. But this box is very high quality and works great.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Useless features

Not enough depth for my cork.

Not deep enough for a 50A plug on a van. The door doesn't close. The bottom hole is too narrow for a fork. Measure your fork before you buy it. If your fork has a handle for easy disconnecting, forget it. look elsewhere Useless for my setup. Angry because I didn't check the depth before expanding the hole below. Although well built. It's my fault for not checking the measurements before ordering and changing them.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Empty

Good choice for an outlet.

Pros: They're cheap for what you get and well made. They're designed to allow the campervan's cord to come out through the base when the lid is closed (if the plug is very thin), meaning there will be a hole in the base when not in use, which is a welcome sign for wasps. Build a nest inside for a nice surprise when you open it to plug it in. This is just my opinion on the design and can be remedied by putting a piece of tape over the hole when not in use. In general they work fine. and get the…

Very solid construction - good workmanship - recommended

I installed this box on the wall of my house to charge my electric car. This is a very good product; solidly built and well finished. Here are a few pointers to help you decide if this is right for you: The power cord should enter from the top (bolted-on hub) or from the bottom (concentric cutouts). There are no cutouts on the sides or back. There isn't much room for cables in the box, so you may need to work to get the connector/plate standing up with thick cables inside. It took me 3 tries…
