as mentioned some connections are starting to get a little tight; I spent a few minutes adjusting/exercising the pivot points prior to installation, since the maximum weight is 18 pounds and the monitor I installed was 12.8 pounds, I started by increasing the spring tension 4.5 to 5 full turns to loosen (the sticker on the lever shows 1 full turn == 1 lb pull). this turned out to be a "good enough" guess; Fully installed (U3219Q) the screen was able to hold its level and was fairly easy to raise/lower when needed. would be perfect, I'm sure). with the mounting plate tightened, I could not insert the mounting head into the plate (step 4 in the instructions). I was able to get around this by loosening the bottom screws 3-4 turns at a time and the top screws 1-2 turns at a time; This gave me the slack I needed to get my head in the platter and I was able to fully tighten the platter on the mount while it was hanging. The whole process took 15 minutes (alone) including a few minutes of joint training (note: the instructions say the wall bolts can be tightened with a 3/8" or 10mm socket; that's incorrect. It's a 10 -mm socket. 3/8" doesn't really fit. So I'm not sure why they didn't just state it instead of trying to (wrongly) convert to imperial units.)
