Doctor's office lighting in your own home

I work in the industry and I know that if you plan on having recessed lighting in your home you should use 27K for general lighting unless you have areas that 3000 or 4000 K for the task need ranges. It was a revenge purchase. My contractor husband insisted (he knows everything) on the house lighting 4000K! I knew what our home would look and feel like. He wouldn't listen to me so I just bought them! Now I'm making an appointment with my GP because I'm feeling this way. STERILE. Now he hates her. (Really?) I may not be a contractor, but I am a designer and have been building for over 20 years. This bright light not only ages you by 10 years in the mirror, but also creates a sense of STERILITY in your home. The light is so brilliantly white that even at night you could think you were outside! It also shows every crack in the drywall (and your face!). The finishes are amazing and I'm happy with the looks considering the price. Downlights are the way to go. An integrated LED light source and no long lamp replacements are a big plus when some parts of the home have 22-foot ceilings. But be careful what kind of Kelvin you use! As I told my husband, who is not listening, 4000K is just too bright for indoor home lighting. Use 2700K! BTW: HE will buy 2700,000 from the same company because I really like the finishes! God help me with the rest of this revamp!
