Acceptable looks, but nothing special

Fortunately, this lamp looks better than the actual quality would suggest. My first thought was that it's pretty cheaply made and doesn't weigh much. If this is a place to meet him, it's probably better to find somewhere else. But on our 8-foot hallway ceilings, it's acceptable, especially with a couple of Edison bulbs installed. It rises easily enough, but the bolts could be a bit longer. Even though my junction box sits flush with the drywall, the length of the screws doesn't match the depth of the canopy. In addition, the lamp mounting screws do not threaten the bezel and must be held in place with a nut. What they spend on these nuts could probably be spent buying the correct bolts, saving the customer/installer time and effort. I'm a fairly tall guy and exerting myself, and I had to work hard to unthread the bulb so that the decorative retaining caps could be put on. For once, it's insulated from abrasion where the wires run through the lampshade, which is a problem I've seen with several other lamps. The installer should be warned that the installation of the socket outlets on the ceiling is in fact not complete, even if it looks like it. Other users have also mentioned that they can't factory tighten these parts and if you install them without tightening them your bulbs will dangle and wobble. I've seen it, but I'm also a bit obsessive about checking all the connections and details before attempting to assemble it. In the end, this is a very acceptable lamp, although I really think its price should be in the $25/$30 range. on material and construction costs. And anything shorter than 8 feet will likely place this lamp too low in the room.
