Review on 🎬 KHOMO GEAR Jumbo 20 Feet Inflatable Outdoor and Indoor Theater Projector Screen - Inflation Fan, Tie-Downs, and Storage Bag Included - Supports Front and Rear Projection, Black (GER-1161) by Mark Kolipano

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good and bad rating. Love and hate.

Benefits: Cost1. It's large, inflates in just over a minute, and has a surprisingly rigid structure.2. The white spandex screen expands to form a flat projection surface.3. Easy to clean. When inflated, the screen can be cleaned by hosing it down with a hose. Although it dries for a long time.4. Also works in the rain (I don't recommend this because if you blow it off, the wet screen will fall on muddy or muddy ground) Cons: Don't use it too often because: 1. The reflectivity is poor, meaning about half the light goes through this thing to allow for rear projection. My 3500 ANSI fluorescence projector (a really powerful lightbulb) barely lasts on a moonless night. I don't think any of the LED projectors are close enough to be full screen. Real projection screens are very bright in comparison.2. Wind is a real problem. I lower it but the visor is spandex and will inflate even in a light breeze. This is a giant parachute. A 15 mph gust of wind is likely to pull tiny pegs out of the soft ground. Rain isn't good for packing up after use and I'm very concerned about mold unless it's really dry.4. The supplied bag is too small for one person, to fold and compress them in less than 10 minutes. This is a 2 person job and only one person is disappointing. The vent is in the middle of the base tube, which prevents easy folding and rolling on one side. You need to fold and roll from both sides at the same time. You should add a vent to the ends.5. The fan is not silent and requires continuous operation. Although it's white noise, it's definitely audible at 40 feet. Increasing the volume of the movie will mute it and not be as noticeable.6. The white spandex screen is easy to get dirty. Can be hosed down but will take a few hours to dry afterwards. There are small streaks on the screen (most likely from black pump tubes), however, this is imperceptible when watching movies at night.8. With rear projection, you can see the projector through the screen. The base of the screen is just 2 feet off the ground, so viewers can see the projector even when they're not seated. You have to put the projector almost on the floor. The higher the screen, the better.9. Not very good for short throw projectors with air movement. The screen moves slightly, making the image dance. Very annoying. You need a perfectly quiet night or indoors when no one walks by the screen and the air disturbs. when they are not sitting. You have to put the projector almost on the floor. Pros
  • Front and rear projection options – Impressive front and rear projection materials allow you to place the projector behind or in front of your screen for more flexibility
Cons
  • Large and bulky
