Excellent battery life, useful both for broadband and as a security camera.

Disclaimer: I received this unit for free in exchange for an honest review. that are not included. It also requires a memory card (not included), but there's a note in the box encouraging you to write a review and sending a free memory card if you write a review. I took a card from my other Rexing camera to test the product. Since the CMOS sensor is 8MP and the maximum resolution is 20MP, I decided to compare the 8MP photo to the 20MP photo when I upscale the 8MP to the same resolution on my computer screen. The 20MP version, while better, was barely noticeable and the file size was almost double (3.8MB vs. 2.0MB). So I recommend sticking with 8-megapixel photos. Despite using a Class 10 Micro SD card with transfer rates of up to 95MB/s, transferring data directly from the camera via the USB cable is quite slow at 11MB/s, so I recommend using one instead card reader. I put it in one spot for 48 hours, sometimes in the sun, sometimes in the shade, with wind and tall grass triggering the motion sensor. The camera took 750 photos and 250 videos on 20 GB. The quality seems to be good on both regardless of the position of the sun and exposure. All photos were taken during the day (the recording did not work at night). This required about 500mA in 8 NiMh AA batteries. Another test: setting for 48 hours in a different place and without wind. In total there are about 20 photos and 5 videos. The battery consumption was 55 mA. So I assume that in this configuration the camera can run for more than 2 months on a set of rechargeable batteries (AA 1900 mAh each). Third test: on-site installation within 6 days. During this time, 7 videos from the 30s and 21 photos were shot. (see attached photo). The battery level also dropped by 50mA, suggesting that the battery consumption has more to do with the number of photos/videos taken than the waiting time for motion detection. This time the setting was set to High Sensitivity. In addition to a photo of a deer (as expected), the camera also caught two of my intruders (unexpected). See two photos attached to the review. One minus point: if you remove the battery for several hours, the time and date settings will be reset. Conclusion: I am very happy with the product for the price and it has excellent battery life. .
