Review on Sangean PR D15: The Ultimate FM Stereo Rechargeable Portable Companion by Randy Robinson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Took 14 months. Two month warranty --- REVISED ---

Took a year and two months, that's a two month warranty but Sangean fixes it for $48. I told them I didn't pay much more to begin with and don't want to buy another one, thanks. This is a good radio as long as it works so I gave it two stars instead of one. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but if it's yours, it'll cost $48 to fix. UPDATE I made a big discovery regarding my radio that no longer works. When I called Sangean, I told them the radio had gone off and the message 'Power Failure' came up on the display. The wizard pointed out that it mostly appeared when there was a problem with the batteries or a bad connection to the batteries. All batteries looked normal and were charged. There is a switch in the battery compartment that you can set depending on what type of batteries you are using, rechargeable or alkaline. I correctly set it to rechargeable but switched to alkaline on a whim and then back again and the radio worked again! I only upgraded to four stars as I agree with others that AM is weak. Otherwise good radio. Another thing I almost forgot was that I was actually affected by my Revain Chase credit card, which extended the one-year Sangean warranty by another year. I called Chase and they were very helpful and emailed me the form and requirements within 10 minutes. Luckily I didn't have to worry about it. :-)
