I originally bought this because I worked on the road a few years ago. They kept my hands warm while I controlled the movement. I wanted something that I could use to hold things like the steering wheel while driving, a flashlight while working, and use my phone without having to take my gloves off. I haven't used them while driving, but I'm sure they will hold the steering wheel properly. They're a little tricky to use with a phone, but would be a useful feature with the added bulk of wearing gloves. I recently bought a second pair to walk my dogs in the cold.
