Wanted something sharp. I chose this model because the RTX 2060S was only marginally cheaper than other models I liked, so I figured why not. I also don't want to have a separate desktop and laptop, so it's particularly worth the money for me. Tl; Dr, this laptop is buttery smooth, well rounded and good value for money when it comes to details and specs. Specifications The screen lacks gloss and appears matte. In triple-A games, your fans run pretty loud, but in return the CPU keeps temperatures moderate. Nice to hold. No 10 key. I recommended value for money though, it's overkill for gaming, I use it for ATMs (see below) and I paid extra for the compact design. So if that's you, you'd be better off opting for the RTX 2060 at Asus TUF or ROG Strix. Full Test: Pros: Plays Apex, Overwatch, Assassin's Creed Oddessy, and Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra settings. No stuttering, smooth, good acceleration control. Oddessy is a heavy game and averages 65 fps, while Overwatch averages around 120 fps. I haven't checked what FPS Cyberpunk is running at, but it seemed to be in the 60 range as well. Where other PCs might fall behind, this one just screams its fans are on and keep running. I also often had the browser running while playing the game and was able to jump back and forth through running other programs without lag and with minimal impact on framerate. I chose this device based on the hardware upgrades from my previous device and I got what I wanted plus a thinner, lighter form factor. I assume that this device will remain technologically relevant for demanding games for a long time to come. The CPU stays cool (around 70 degrees) in most of the games mentioned, which is good for your health. Physically, the entire laptop feels solid when closed, and if you like an understated design, then that's nice. I'll end up buying a new monitor to get the most out of this device, but geez, it's pretty darn capable for its size and portability. Cons are: wow, oh wow, this thing can get noisy. You'll definitely need headphones at higher settings, but most of the time you're done with that. I ran Cyberpunk in Fan Silent mode as I didn't want headphones and subjectively it worked the same as Performance mode and was quiet enough to play without headphones. The screen leaves a lot to be desired. I may not have checked my settings yet, I've only had the device for a few days, but the lack of optimization for setup is a major downside alongside the fact that the screen doesn't appear bright enough as it should be. color and shine. Those used to things like the Retina display will find that this isn't enough. When connected to an external monitor, it's hard to beat, but it arguably adds a few hundred to setup costs. In terms of build, the screen physically has a lot of flexibility and a discrepancy in backlight brightness. The lack of a number pad is a bit of a shame, and the backlighting on the keys can be set to just one color or to alternate between multiple colors. The build also doesn't scream "I'm a $1,500 laptop!". Underrated to say the least with an all plastic chassis for this model. The store is connected on the left side. There's only one USB port on the left and HDMI, which might make me want to buy a wireless mouse since the other two USB ports are on the right.
