Review on AC201710300001 MegaDeal Swivel Caster Bearing by Andrew Jenkins

I used them to attach to the bottom of two filing cabinets I made that weigh about 40 pounds each empty. Yes, like all the other reviews say, they smell. I washed them in the dishwasher on a very high temperature (I didn't use the dry setting because I didn't want the rubber to melt) and then left them on the porch for a day. The smell had since dissipated and wasn't as strong anymore. I only needed 8 out of 12 so I skipped the 4 wheels for the smell and used that as a control to see if there was a difference. And so it was. I highly recommend washing them in the dishwasher. As other people have mentioned, once they are attached to the bottom of the furniture, you cannot feel them at all. In fact, I had my cabinets painted a few days ago and when I brought them inside I could smell more of the paint. I installed them with Lowes #10 screws, the depth of which was appropriate for my project. Anyway, I should have gotten the pan head screws rather than the smooth/domed ones so they could sit more tightly on the wheel mount, but that wasn't an issue. They rolled from the porch to the house without a sweat. They walk around the office when I need them. Reviews where people complain that they don't roll well, I don't know what purpose they use them for, but I personally try not to use my skateboarding furniture around the house. They roll on the carpet when I need it and that's all that matters. Five stars even though they smell because you just can't beat this price.
