Started out in a depressed mood, especially after reading the reviews. First mistake - I connected the camera to a USB hub, which prevented win10 from recognizing the camera from the start. I added an SD card for testing. I was able to access the DCIM media storage but the PC did not recognize the camera. Then I went straight into the USB port of the PC, turned on the camera - then the USB cable and the PC camera. The PC has recognized the J455 camera and installed the driver. AMcap is not needed - the CAMERA application in win10 works fine. You cannot change the zoom setting when using the PC camera - I use a separate DARK WEB brand desktop microphone. The plan is to record an hour long event and I think that will work out well. The user manual is vague but the android app struggles with not having an internet connection (via wifi) - so not great and maybe the price is higher elsewhere but I wanted faster shipping - so that's the keeper - good but not great. reasonable price . For people who want to use the mic on the camera - here's a possible solution - use the line in on your pc's sound card or (my laptop doesn't have a mic jack) buy a $10 usb to mic/ Headset adapter - the microphone on The camera performs very well with the Dark Web desktop microphone.
