The rabbit lights stopped working before I could use them

I bought these rabbit lights to use on a miniature Christmas tree for Easter. It stopped working before I could even use it. I tested it once when I first bought it to make sure it worked. It was like this. Now that I'm ready to use it, when I put in new batteries it stopped working. Strongly disappointed. waste of money.
