Aluminum rusts easily!
Made of aluminum and will rust easily. I bought this one thinking it was the same as my other refractometer but noticed a difference in weight. The heavier one was copper, which is very resistant to rust, and this one is cheap aluminum. The difference lies not only in corrosion resistance, but also in strength and durability. I do not recommend this one, especially since it is used for salt water. If you store this, be sure to wipe dry after each use. All models weighing half a kilo are made of cheap material. Look for those that weigh 12 ounces.
