I lost my range finder, bought a new one and immediately put on this retractable lanyard. A good thing. After looking closely at the deer on the stalk and taking a quick shot, I moved to see which way it was going. After a while, I realized that I hadn't put the range finder back in its holster before launch. He hung on a string, preventing another loss. However, it makes a bit of noise every now and then. Most noticeable on windless days. I'm not sure what would be best, so I'll keep using it for now.
