In June 2014 I bought a total of 4 pieces in black/gold. A small background, the first one I bought, can't remember the date - probably early 2014, it was blue and Lynktec's original Truglide stylus, ie it had a mesh tip but no inner rubber core. This pen has worked great so far, except the mesh started to fray like a Brillo pad with very thin "hairs" sticking out in all directions. In terms of screen scratches, this wasn't an issue, the fibers are silky smooth, but the fiber's material is extremely conductive and caused erratic touch activation. I bought a new stylus and to my surprise the design changed to the current combination of mesh and rubber ball core. It still worked very well, but there were some notable differences: 1. If you apply too much pressure, the tip will break and there will be a distinct cracking sound.2. The tip itself is much stronger and tends to make a grating noise as it slides across the screen. This is particularly noticeable when typing/swiping on the Google keyboard, for example.3. Unlike the original design, the mesh cover has worn away, exposing the rubber core in several areas of the pen tip. This last remark is my main objection. All three (3) of the new designer pens I bought had "bald patches" on the tips within about 3 months. . It was only when it was discovered that all three probes were defective that I decided to contact the company. I took photos of the probes and copies of the Revain receipts and emailed them to lynktec. They responded immediately and sent me three new dipsticks and I didn't have to send back the faulty old ones first. Unfortunately, the same problem reappeared around the same time. To be clear, some of the earlier styluses may have worn out prematurely because I used them on my Google Nexus 7 (2012) at the time, which had regular Gorilla Glass. However, I stopped using them on my Nexus 7 when I bought my Google Nexus 5 and now my Google Nexus 5xLynktec was kind enough to me by replacing three pins and not asking for the originals, I just didn't have that heart to ask her to replace her. Although I know they would. So I'm writing this review using a 2 year old Truglide stylus that has some "bald spots" and still works as well as it did the day I bought it. This is the quality inherent in these pens. They're compact, less than 5 inches tall, made of metal, the clip is strong - none of them have fallen off in over three years, and they're very stylish. Yes. Yes, I am for this pen. I've literally amassed over two dozen brands/styles of stylus pens ranging in price from $2 to $65 over the past few years. I read the last reviews people said this pen is too expensive. ...it only lasts 3-4 months...well, the price is relative. If you're looking for a cheap piece of plastic, this isn't for you. Once you've tried them, heed this warning — cheap mesh styluses will wear away your phone's oleophobic coating prematurely, and you'll regret not getting a soft, quality stylus like this one. the cost of my Nexus 5x (32GB). Also, you really don't need to replace it that often, and remember: the first failure/failure is a free replacement. N.T. This is without a doubt the best stylus I have ever used.
