Sturdy construction but concerns about using screws in mahogany
The swing brackets themselves appear to be very well designed and solid in construction. My concern is that I have a mahogany ceiling joist and I am concerned that the mahogany is not dense enough to ensure the screws do not fail over time. Instead I used a threaded rod and screwed the hinges through the joist.
