I bought these walkie talkies as a joke for my 9 year old. Having had children's walkie-talkies in the past, I didn't have high hopes for them. But they were really worth it! First, they have withstood some pretty rough handling and still work great. Second, the bright colors made them easier to find if lost outside. Third, they don't drain their batteries like the older models. (We've had them for a month now and are still using the [Amazon brand] batteries that we put in them when we received the devices! I recommend removing the batteries after each use in case the child forgets turning his device off..) the plus is that there are three devices in the set - we only needed two, but we figured that opening one would quickly break it. Luckily, they were well made, so the third device became the parent walkie-talkie. The only negative, and it's really minor in my opinion, is that one of the kids had trouble turning off the radio. It took him a few tries to get used to pressing the power button. However, as mentioned above, this did not have a detrimental effect on battery life. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. 👍🏻
