I'm 6ft 3in 344lbs. I was very concerned about sitting on this small stool with such a large body. It seems to hold up well on hard floors. I have this to do the quick jobs I need to do like repairing closets, packing boxes, working on my tires or changing the oil on my lawn equipment. It's not something I would take with me on a long trip to a campground or outdoor sporting event. I use large folding chairs for this kind of thing, and besides, that stool will probably sink into the lawn or the ground. The seat is just coarse nylon. Comes with a carry bag and folds very compactly, about the size of a small umbrella. Not the most comfortable because I feel the frame and there is no pillow but I don't need it to rest. It sits very low, like on a milk crate, so if you need something taller this isn't it. So far so good, so I'd definitely recommend it if you just need a quick seat for small jobs around the house or garage.
