I already have a Manfrotto table tripod. I would say the feature that brings this tripod forward is the chrome locking feature that allows you to lock the legs in a higher position. By rotating the chrome-plated lock just above the legs, you can lock the legs at an angle of approximately 45 degrees at a tripod height of approximately 5 inches. This allows the tripod to stabilize at 2 inches or 5 inches without jamming the device. The only stable height is 2 inches with legs fully apart. The tripod stands stable without a locking device when you place the action camera on a tripod, but when you place a 35mm camera on a tripod, the weight lowers the tripod to the open position.
