They're great for suppressing hunger, but they have a lot of soy-based ingredients. Those are the active ingredients. Why is this a problem for a trans woman undergoing hormone replacement therapy? Because, despite what you may have heard, the abundant phytoestrogens in soy don't actually act like human estrogen, instead they bind to estrogen receptors. where they do nothing but block real estrogen. I'm a trans woman on HRT so every time I take one of these I feel like shit for hours. The first week I started hormone replacement therapy I felt amazingly comfortable and happy, but I drank it at work to avoid lunch and I found I felt emotional numbness again as soon as I started the hormone replacement therapy work began. Then a few hours later, just as they stopped working, I suddenly felt all the happiness and comfort of HRT coming back to me, even though I wasn't taking any new hormones! Years later I forgot about them and bought them again and one day I drank one, the same thing happened and I remembered. Bottom line: I'm not a doctor but I would avoid it if you are transfem as it would interfere with your HRT but if I were transmasking I could still take it.
