Review on High-Quality Tronixpro Digital Camera Flash with Universal Shoe Bracket for Sony, Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus & More Cameras & Camcorders by Nancy Russell

Nice and cheap but does the job

One of the first reviewers commented that this flash doesn't fit in the camera's flash shaft. I had the same issue with (3) of my four cameras. From my observations, the size and thickness of the Flash stem is normal and tight, so there is no variation. The problem lies in the central point of contact, which is spring-loaded and doesn't push up when trying to mount the flash onto the camera's hot shoe. This problem is solved by simply using a jewelry screwdriver or a small pointed flat object to push the contact point up towards the flash while simultaneously pushing the flash forward towards the front of the lens. Finally, by pushing this contact point up about 1-2mm, you can scrape the edge of the hot shoe and slowly move it to the right position. I hope that makes sense. Otherwise a great flash for less than 10€. With a guide number of around 56 ASA 100 you really get a lot of flash power at 1.50-2.10m. My only regret is that it takes about 55-60 seconds to fully warm up and be ready to fire. 1/2/17: Had to go back to seller. After a day of limited use, the flash would not turn on after 5 minutes with a fresh set of batteries. The rest worked very well. Shame, such a really good product if only it would work.

Pros
  • Lightweight and compact design
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine
