Review on 🎧 Sony MDRX05/BR Simon Cowell X Headphone (Black/Red): Elevate Your Audio Experience by Robert Bigelow

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent sound, incredibly comfortable but wouldn't buy more than $60 (3.5 stars)

First, the sound of music can vary greatly from device to device. These headphones are particularly squishy and warmer for those who love bass. In fact, these speakers remind me of my Polk PSW10 subwoofer before I set it up. Unfortunately, without the ability to tune these headphones, the bass can be very overwhelming and ruin the quality. The highs are okay, but the lows drown out the mids and you lose the vocals. I suppose if you crank the volume up a lot it's not a problem, but if you're listening at lower volumes you might not enjoy these headphones. That's the only real downside I would say to these headphones and it sits between my iPod headphones (5th gen) and my Monster N-Tune HD headphones, which are still better than these. The Sony X headphones are a good compromise and a good choice if you want to do without uncomfortable N Tunes or bassless iPod headphones. The best thing about the X headphones is that they are phenomenally comfortable with memory foam and they fit me perfectly. If you had a smaller head than mine, I would definitely see them fall off your head. Definitely recommend trying them on in the store first and moving your head. Sound quality depends on the type of music you listen to: hip hop, dance, pop, EDM, techno, whatever you call it, they sound good. Indie rock or soft rock, classic rock or other music that focuses less on the lows than on the mids and highs, MEH sounds. Buy them for travel and/or comfort, but make sure they're not your only headphones or you'll be left without them.
