I paid a "recommended technician" $80 to install a door and wall kit in my house. I suspect he didn't read or understand the instructions and most likely this was the first dog door he installed. He made additional holes inside and out as his measurements were wrong enough that the bolts couldn't be lined up to go through. When I then told him that the kit was an optional accessory for the dog flap and to avoid tearing off two edges, he went ahead and did it without even trying it on (as instructed) which left the kit for about 3 hours. "; I think he thought that was all that was needed to cover the exposed insulation. Well, it didn't cover the insulation from the bottom or sides of the wall; he told me to use some heavy duty duct tape take and glue it on which i did but it's too slippery for my dog and i'm sure it won't stick at all oh and he put two screws in the kit bottom next to the outside flap to to hold the kit bottom anyway when the dog gets out or in the outer lid doesn't close properly so i lean over and tug Complaint about the product but a warning to others to make sure they do know how to install dog doors. I thought I saved money by ordering online from Revain. If I just had to do it all over again I'd pay Lowe extra and ask them for an installer! I've thought about to go to Lowe to buy artificial grass carpets, stick carpet tape on all areas, and then stick the carpet. If anyone has, there are other suggestions Niya, please inform. I've been thinking about buying another set. Should I buy another door? But this place is the only place you can put a dog door, as the house's doors and windows overlook the hardboard patio. the rest of the house is brick. Thanks! PS I tried not to click on any of the rated "stars" based on my experience, but the program wouldn't let me rate it, so I gave it 4 stars, although I really think I would have if I did an experience would have dog . Door installer, the product would be excellent. I only put 4 because perhaps the installation instructions could have been simpler or clearer, especially the cutting part of the screws as my professional didn't have anything to cut them; Instead he went to Lowe and bought washers, so my bolts aren't in, they're out. My dog is used to the freedom of a dog door and so am I, so after 3 months without a dog door we are happy to have at least one door.
