Looking for a Rackmount KVM, wanted 8 ports, easy controls, 1U, good value, cables included, non-intrusive, no drivers or hotkeys. Just press the button and it switches. That's almost what I got. The cables are a good length and include USB to unused VGA cable wires. This ensures a very clean installation and simplifies the wiring. Overall this is a great device and I am very happy with it. Now to the problems: First, it's not 1u, it's less; about 2/3. It's not a problem for me as it sits right above the keyboard drawer, which prevents rubbing, but it's not the look we all like. Second, the red lights are, well, red and pretty bright. It's a little annoying, and the red lights on my green frame are a little annoying. Yes, I complain about some very small things. This is because I have no serious complaints about this KVM. No one. If the case was a full 1U and the light was dimmer and greener, that would be ideal. If that bothers me too much over the life of the device, I'll probably break the soldering iron by swapping the LEDs and increasing the input. 80-100 ohm lead resistance and fabricate a black anodized strip to match the gap. While I'm at it, I'll probably install a cable tray on the back of the unit to make the setup even cleaner. :)
