This slider is good in concept but not in use. It's not smooth in the middle, there are a few bumps on the bars, the carriage wobbles side-to-side or front-to-back depending on camera position even when you tighten it all the way. If you put it on a tripod it will fall off both ends so it's not very strong considering I'm using a film camera with a much lower weight capacity. Also, the rubber material on the slide that is supposed to protect your camera is very cheap and will break into pieces if you overtighten the camera. the rotating platform on the carriage loosens if you over tighten the camera and the only way to lock it is to remove the camera and tighten it from underneath with an allen key (again, not very practical). I want to return this but unfortunately my returns window is closed so I guess I'll write it off as a loss. Do yourself a favor and stay away from it and go for a more reputable brand with better build quality. You won't regret it in the long run.
