The heating pad is nice and melts enough wax to spread the melted aroma but doesn't seem to get warm or hot enough to melt it completely - within an hour I I gonna find a huge big crust of wax with a little puddle in it. It also only holds a cube of melted wax before it looks like it's about to overflow and the bowl sits quite precariously on the heat lamp. Thus, the slightest tug and either melted wax or the entire heater would splatter all over the place. I started by chopping the wax cubes into tiny pieces and only heating that tiny amount until I found something warmer. A great gift if you don't particularly like the person and crossing your fingers for hot wax all over the rug!
