I opened the brewing unit by first removing the silicone strap from the metal unit. Then I looked for a clamp to get the knife under to open the capsule. I divided the hemispheres of the pod into parts. Then I put the loose tea leaf inside. I reassembled the capsule and put the silicone strap on top. Then I poured hot water into a large mug up to the neck of the mug. I put the capsule in and waited. It leaked and now I have black tea. I removed the pod and drained it into a mug for 10 seconds. I then moved the pod to a separate bowl. I noticed that the volume of the capsule was about 1 inch of a cup. The rest of the liquid in the mug was the perfect amount for a slow sip with some sugar and cream. The capsule can be reused for another cup of hot water. Always pour hot water into a mug with a capsule in it. The hot water will overflow if you try to put the capsule in a mug filled to the brim with hot water. If you do this you will spill something.
