These knee pads are very impressive. Very light and can be worn for several hours. I have sore knees that are very sore and swollen when trying to do something without pads. After trying on my feet, I wore them for 5 straight hours, did many chores around the house and garden, and even forgot I wore them multiple times. Up and down the kitchen floor, basement, gravel driveway and deck. They stay in place, are very flexible when you're standing and stretching your legs, and have enough padding to get on your knees or crawl a bit on gravel or hard surfaces. While I don't want to spend all day on my knees in them, they are exceptionally good for many "ups and downs" and I haven't felt the extra weight I have with other pads I've owned and tried. To explain how they work, the bottom strap is a nylon webbing that doesn't stretch. You set this a little tight over the calf muscle, which then carries the weight and height of the kneecap. The top strap is elastic and will stretch as your hip and knee muscles flex. this keeps the cap on the knee. And because of the spacing between the two straps, there's very little to stray and pinch just behind the knee.
