I ordered this scanner because the buttons on mine stopped working. I thought I lived a good 10-12 years, so that's okay. I ordered the same model as a replacement because I wanted to make sure the new scanner would be compatible with my old system. Hm. The buttons didn't work either. BOO. I finally got the manual for the original scanner. My daughter always arranged everything for me, so I never paid attention to it. I had to call the manufacturer to find out what the problem with the button was. I found that if you click start then arcsoftphotostudio 5.5, edit, acqire.bla-bla-bla scanner works fine. YES SIR. who knew My old scanner probably still works fine with computer control. Maybe there was an undetermined date that caused me to lose sync. I tried the update website but it was "down for maintenance". So if your buttons don't work, see the scan guide before purchasing a replacement. Nothing against the seller. I wonder if the buttons worked on him. hmmm, the scanner is fine anyway. No problem. Liked the price. Now I have TWO.
