This coaster sounds like a good idea, but it lacks execution. The rack sits right in the middle of the base, leaving little room to place anything underneath. However, the turning point hurts him. This is a socket that sits loosely on top of the rack. There is one set screw that should help. The art of engineering really falls short here. When delivered, the threaded pin is built into the toothed rack, so rotation is not possible. They used a DESK set screw. It doesn't slide over the bar. He will fall. I believe if I twisted the tip enough times I could cut the end of the post. If you loosen the set screw just enough to rotate the top, the top will not sit flat. I ended up returning it for a different stand style. All in all, it might be better than putting the laptop on top of a pile of books (but I'm not sure).
