This brush comes in a plastic bag with a mesh to prevent damage to the bristles. There was a slight smell when opening, but that quickly dissipated. This is a well balanced brush and a pleasure to use. The pen is a good size and I couldn't find any flaws. The bristles are long but dense enough for good powder control. I had quite a bit of hair loss when I opened the brush and some of them stayed longer than most other bristles and needed trimming. But for the price I find it quite acceptable and have bought brushes for double the price that weren't twice as good. Made in China.
