I have a 5' x 4' x 4' cat tower rack that I need to replace with an old carpet stand. Found this after some digging and unfortunately didn't do the math and ended up taking two. Unfortunately they stopped selling them in 164ft lengths - I think that was too good a deal - so I had to buy three more 66ft lengths to finish the second half. does not spread at all. So unless you're very sensitive to it and don't plan on rubbing your face on it with your cats, this shouldn't be a problem for you. I love that it's not as rough or frizzy as many other products and my cats have put it to good use scratching in place of my stairs.
