Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not good enough in 2021 - does not support 4K/60Hz.

I kinda blame myself for not doing my research. The Intel Core i5-8279U is equipped with an Intel Iris 655 GPU that does not support 4K/60Hz computing. That means only 60Hz at 1080p or lower. If it had DisplayPort we'd be in business, but no. For reasons unknown, this system has 2 HDMI 4K/30 ports. Gr! But scold the seller for advertising 4K/60 when the HDMI 1.4 card isn't capable of it. Setup was easy. Windows 10 Pro is preinstalled and only basic knowledge is required from the end user to complete the installation and there is no malware to speak of. The fan noise is annoying. There's a custom BIOS here that can be accessed with the Delete key at boot, but it's not very user-friendly in terms of settings, which do much here, although there's a thermal performance section. You may be able to use this to reduce fan noise, but again this will require some investigation/communication with the supplier. It doesn't take long for the fan to go haywire either - just fire up Windows and it'll scream at you. The fan curve is set to increase fan speed instantly, keeping noise-sensitive people away from you. Actual performance is decent, with 16GB of Kingston DDR 2400MHz RAM and of course an 8th Gen Coffee Lake quad-core processor. There are no other surprises. So in general - a stable, solid car. But in 2021 and with very cheap 4K monitors, this device only needed a DisplayPort connection for 60Hz - the most basic standard. 3 out of 5. Good.
