Review on PANASONIC Amplified Cordless Phone With Digital Answering Machine - KX-TGM450S - 1 Handset (Silver) by Jacob Jefferson

I bought this for my 97 year old mother because it was listed as 'one of the best' for seniors with big buttons etc what it has. BUT the features are terrible. To answer a call, you can't just pick up the phone and say hello. You need to find and press the green talk button. Then, to hang up, you need to find and press the red off button. My mother can hardly read these two buttons without a magnifying glass. So she has to find the M-Glass, then pick up the phone and so on. She's learned to press the button to reply, but sometimes when she's fumbling with it, she presses the "OFF" button first. Well, if you do that, the call will be blocked! This means that when I traveled abroad and she accidentally clicked on it, I couldn't call her about this AND THE FUTURE. Terrible feature! NO PHONE SHOULD HAVE A ONE-LOCK CALL BUTTON THAT IS SO EASY TO PUSH. BUT especially the phone and the elderly person. This product is terrible and needs an overhaul. UPDATE: In early February 2020 the phone stopped working properly. It rings once and then discards ALL incoming calls. And no, there's nothing else getting in the way because the other phone (1/3 the price of WalMart) works SIMPLY WELL. Forget this product!
