Review on Replacement Digitizer Assembly Earpiece Protector by David Gibbs

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good electronics bad kit

Lots of cons but I only deducted one star because the main part of the kit worked perfectly the first time. I had an assistant when I reinstalled the top cable plate and one person did the rest. BENEFITS: *Cables are 0.5mm longer, making it much easier to install a new screen than a factory screen. * The screen is 0.1mm thinner, so the edge of the home button sags slightly. (Invisible when using a screen protector.) * Every part works first time * The pick fits very easily due to the thinner tip and slippery plastic. * The alcohol swabs are actually wet. * Instructions were short, complete, and readable without a microscope.* No more annoying clicks at random times. Cons: * The top hinges are slightly smaller, so inserting the top edge requires a bit more force * The home connector didn't fit snugly into the socket and had to be snapped in place before the home button could be installed. * There is no adhesive pad provided for the screen. * The pentalobe screwdriver did not match the bottom screws. * The Philips screwdriver was non-magnetic and therefore could not be used for tiny screws. * The edges of the scapula are too soft and bend easily. *The edges of the screen protector are curved, resulting in small tears and a full air gap.* The polishing cloth smears stains but does not clean like all other glass microfiber cloths.* Screen fits snugly.
