This replaced a 1.2 gallon kitchen compost bin that was too big for my family. It's small enough to keep on the counter next to my cutting board at all times and fills up in a day or two, so no kitchen waste ends up in the kitchen. It's mostly non-plastic, fits my iron hangers, and has a lid. Detaching the bag from the front took a bit of getting used to and keep in mind that you can only grab it with one hand when it's almost empty. The bag stays on the ring when full, but the bag IS the bottom, so when you pick it up you can put it on top of the bag and its contents! Compostable 9" x 13" bags fit perfectly. This size is primarily for walking dogs, but I have found a few that cannot be identified as pet waste bags. When using for rubbish, bread bags or fruit and vegetable bags from the grocery store are also suitable. I understand it might not be for everyone, but I love it.
