Adorable Small Single Purpose Shelf

This tiny countertop bin does what I need it to: it's a neat way to toss used coffee pods in my pantry. It holds 8 or 9 capsules and I don't use an insert so I can just turn it upside down when I empty it in the bin. I tested the removable bottom (which is completely enclosed, btw) and it works fine if you want to line it with one of those flimsy plastic bags, but I don't use it for anything other than coffee pods. A relatively heavy metal cover over a metal frame. Hoping the extra weight will protect against bugs.

I bought this bin to replace a flimsy plastic bin that is said to repel fruit flies but it doesn't. This year I was attacked by garbage-eating insects like never before. I used to just throw food waste in the bin with no consequences. Somehow the bugs managed to get inside the plastic container, perhaps because the lid didn't seal as tightly as it should. Maybe they'll start small and feed on the junk in there, and when you open the lid, bingo, big fat bugs like I've never seen before this…

I like it. Optimal storage and organization

This replaced a 1.2 gallon kitchen compost bin that was too big for my family. It's small enough to keep on the counter next to my cutting board at all times and fills up in a day or two, so no kitchen waste ends up in the kitchen. It's mostly non-plastic, fits my iron hangers, and has a lid. Fits perfectly. Sometimes simple works best

I used bowls, empty jars and decorated waste bins to avoid smelly/wet trash getting into my large kitchen bag. They all worked but they either hurt my eyes or rusted or just looked ugly, also I had trouble using recycled bags under the bread and things because they were usually small.
