Review on 🎧 HuddleCamHD HuddlePod Air Wireless USB Speakerphone - Black Edition by Tracey Gonzales

Revainrating 4 out of 5

overpriced but works well.

Our scenario: We have a 12' x 14' conference room with a table for 6 in the middle of the room. We use a 60-inch Samsung LCD mounted in a corner with a Logitech HD webcam mounted on the LCD about 7 feet off the floor and Skype for Business/Lync 365 for video calls. The problem was that the Logitech webcam's microphone was too far from the table so people on the other end couldn't hear us clearly, and because the LCD was in a corner of the room, people on the other end could sometimes hear it not hear the output clearly LCD speakers. We also have a Polycom cordless conference room phone that we can use to call the other party, but we wanted to use Lync for calls and also be able to interact in webinars without being connected to the phone. Solution (for now): I looked around and finally found this HuddlePod Air but couldn't find any reviews anywhere. It kind of reminds me of a Bluetooth speaker, which could probably fill the bill depending on your needs. The advantage of the HuddlePod is the 360-degree pickup range and the noise/echo cancellation. Pros: Good audio output from full-range speaker, don't expect deep bass or rich highs. Plug in the USB receiver and Windows will data to and from the HuddlePod. By default, no manual driver installation is required. Rechargeable with a standard USB mini-B cable. The warranty for such a device is longer than average. If the key is long, it can be difficult to find a place to put it without risking someone breaking it. It would be nice if they included a 1ft USB extension cable for flexibility. Actual battery life has yet to be tested. I can update the review as we use it more often and can provide a more thorough and long-term estimate.
