Disclaimer: I received this cable for free to test. Earlier this year I ran some category 7 cables in the walls/attic. They connect 10Gig uplinks on 2 Netgear switches. I replaced one of those connections with this Cat8 cable and was still able to get a 10Gig connection. I have no way to test 40Gig. As far as I can tell it's not designed for wall use, which was important to me with the Cat7 installed. But it seems like a decent cable, especially for the price.
