About 4 weeks ago I bought a new one to use with my laptop's power adapter. I don't do anything out of the ordinary with it. I tuck and untuck the side of the wall and roll it up once or twice a day. I assume a UL listed power cord will have no problem with that. A few weeks ago there was a problem with the cable as shown in the picture. Today it shorted out there and the circuit I connected it to blew up. I already cleaned the shorted copper pieces before taking the picture so you can't really see the short. I attribute this to poor design and/or poor manufacture.
