I bought this for cats. They tore up the weather sweeper beforehand because we couldn't hear the bells that had been hung before. (which we still use internally) Now they ring this bell and it has two bells, one for the basement and one for the upstairs so we can hear it ringing everywhere. I used to tape it to the door and one of them ripped it off the door to ring the bell. It survived, but I was annoyed that I had to reattach it every time. Now I attached it to a wooden board from Lowes and just put it next to the door. Now all she has to do is step on him with her paw. So far, so good.
