Review on 🧵 Efficient Sewing with Roxanne Applique Hand Needles - Perfect Size Package by Amber Perez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Slightly disappointed

I have used Roxanne hand quilting needles for many years with no problems. They were strong and easy to work with and when I decided to try hand applique I grabbed Roxanne needles without a second thought. I don't know if I had a bad batch or if there were some changes in the production process and/or location, but I consider them thread breaker. If you can thread them, that is. I bent over a few while trying to thread them with my super duper presto bingo, squeezed the lever and pulled out the full thread needle threader. A pair I completely gave up and threw away. I even used some old needle threaders and broke a few needles trying to to thread them. If you can thread the needle the 50W thread keeps an eye on it while you work. The only thing that slips on easily and doesn't stick is 100w silk. Otherwise the needles are fine - they have a good point that goes easily through most fabrics. However, the wasted thread trying to get to the sewing part, coupled with the frustration of taking a 10-minute break to thread the needle, means they're not worth it.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • No machine
