I have used CCA speaker wire in the past and have had corrosion issues. Usually the problem goes away as long as you insulate it from moisture with adhesive lined heat shrink tubing and dielectric grease. This problem occurred when installing the speaker in a car door. This wire is much higher quality and costs an additional $10 per 100 feet. Corrosion is not really a problem for copper as corrosion takes much longer to start. If you use shrink glue and grease, there's practically no problem. Also, since CCA is typically 50-60% conductive, this wire can handle more amps.
