Description of 🔊 Enhance Audio Clarity: InstallGear 14 Gauge AWG 100ft Speaker Wire - Oxygen-Free Copper with True Spec

100-FEET (30.5m) / 14 GAUGE SPEAKER WIRE - The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire. Thicker wire presents less resistance to current flow. OXYGEN-FREE COPPER (OFC) - Oxygen Free Copper wiring provides a superior electrical conductor to aluminum because it does not expand or contract with heat and can carry a higher current load. RUGGED PVC JACKET - Allows free, wide and seamless adjustment of the required physical properties of this wire such as flexibility, elasticity, and impact resistance. EASY POLARITY IDENTIFICATION - This two color jacket allows for easy polarity identification. Making a polarity mistake could be damaging to your audio equipment. SOFT TOUCH JACKET - The jacket on our cable is designed with the installer in mind. The flexibility of this jacket allows for easy routing and has a low memory.

Marine Audio System Rebuild

Used to completely rebuild the audio system in a 22 foot marine. 6 cabinet speakers, 2 wake tower speakers and a subwoofer. Everything is connected to this wire. Marine applications require 100% OFC copper to prevent rust/corrosion. It meets all the requirements, excellent wire, price, quality. Well marked, it took closer to 200 feet for the entire project. The sound quality is amazing, clear highs/mids and tight lows!

Pros
  • Solid Surface
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Good quality cable, easy to use.

Cable quality looks decent. It was easy to strip the wires and attach the banana plugs squarely. The product makes it easy to distinguish positive from negative by helping the user observe correct polarity. I can't tell if the sound quality differs from other standards. Cable, as sound quality depends on many aspects of the audio system and sound source.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not the best

High-quality acoustic wire made from oxygen-free copper

I have used CCA speaker wire in the past and have had corrosion issues. Usually the problem goes away as long as you insulate it from moisture with adhesive lined heat shrink tubing and dielectric grease. This problem occurred when installing the speaker in a car door. This wire is much higher quality and costs an additional $10 per 100 feet. Corrosion is not really a problem for copper as corrosion takes much longer to start. If you use shrink glue and grease, there's practically no problem…

Pros
  • Fits me perfectly
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent speaker copper wire

This is a great product, pure copper conductivity (I measured it), easy to remove and easy to fit to speakers. The attached photo shows the difference between copper clad aluminum (CCA) and real copper (especially oxygen free copper, OFC). Notice the color difference, which shows that the CCA is mostly aluminum, which has about 60% the conductivity of copper. OFC costs more, but the difference between this and CCA is usually negligible compared to what stereo components cost. CCA generally…

The cheapest way to upgrade your sound system!

This is my new favorite speaker cable! I've been using regular 16 gauge speaker wire for a long time and have dealt with intermittent muting as well as the occasional popping or cracking. For a long time I assumed that it was a problem with my receiver because it was outdated. I bought this cable because I was moving my speakers and needed to change the cables I used due to their length. I did a little research and came across meter recommendations based on cable length and speaker impedance…

Excellent speaker cable for the price

I was surprised to find an OFC cable at this price. I was skeptical at first but I have to admit this is a great wire! The caliber is actually slightly larger than 14g, which is nice. Unfortunately all of my strippers remove strands when using 14 gauge. The cable sleeve is of very good quality and thick. Very flexible, even too flexible. If you're trying to slip that wire through something, look elsewhere. If you can figure it out, great. I used it for both the speaker wire and the low power…

Pros
  • Cables and connections
Cons
  • Very expensive

Perfect fit for my application

Since I spend a lot of time in my garage (e.g. car and motorcycle maintenance, workshop, gym, etc.), I wanted to add a decent sound system to enjoy. I've had an old boombox from the 80's for years but was ready for an upgrade. I hooked up a Pioneer AVR, CD player and Mirage 460 speakers, but I used very old flimsy speaker wire from my first stereo I bought in the early 80's. The speaker wire was very thin and silver on both ends (so it's definitely not copper or even CCA). The sound was ok but…
