I do a lot of macro photography in my small studio. This Vivitar flash is of good quality, I've only had some issues when photographing shiny objects such as silver coins or objects enclosed in durable protective cases. Trying to control lightning ricochet has always been a time-consuming task. I switched to an LED ring and that solved my problem.
